We're proud to have been the Brompton dealer in the North-East of England for over 10 years - we're always pleased to sell people this excellent bicycle, and we're very experienced in both matching the right machine to each individual rider, and in the servicing and repair of all Bromptons, including older models..

All Bromptons share the same basic folding mechanism, and any Brompton can, with a little bit of practice, be quickly packed down to a fraction of its unfolded size

Starting in 2005, the old model designations L3, T6 and so on are obsolete. Models now have a 3-character designation, the first letter describes which sort of handlebars are fitted, the middle number describes how many gears the bike has, and the final letter describes wether the bike has no mudguards, mudguards only, or mudguards and a rack. Stick an X on the end of the model designation, and that means it has titanium parts.

We usually have models in stock, and on order but bear in mind that because there is a large range of models and specifications available, if there's a specific model you want, we may have to order it in for you. Brompton Type C3E~Code: 7430

This is the basic, budget-model brompton - it has more basic parts, is only available in 3-speed form, and comes supplied without mudguards, folding pedal or pump (these items can be fitted at a later date if desired)~Effectively a Brompton in basic form, the C3 has all the fundamental advantages of the Brompton design and although it's designed for occasional fair-weather use, it is still fine for riding hard or far. The C-type has no mudguards. And it cannot be made to special order, but any Brompton option can be fitted retrospectively.

The standard colour for the C-type is red.

Brompton Type M3L~Code: 7431

This is the standard-model basic brompton, it's similar in specification to the old L3 model. Three well-chosen gears, lightweight parts, fitted with the classic comfortable u-shaped handlebars. The perfect commuting/city bicycle.~M3L
This is identical to the old "L3" model - M is for the standard "U" shaped handlebars, 3 for 3 speed gears, and "L" for "lightweight" ie mudguards only. This is an excellent machine for the cycle commuter, or for someone who wants to carry the bike in the back of a car, to take out for rides further away from home.

Brompton Type M6R plus~This model is very similar to the old T6, which was one of the most popular old-designation Bromptons. It has the U-shaped handlebars, for a comfortable upright riding position, mudguards and a rear rack. It is supplied as standard with Brompton's own Kevlar-belted tyres (that's the "plus" bit)~This model has the following specification:

Brompton Type M2L-X~Somewhat similar to the M3L, in terms of what you’d use it for, but massive weight savings thanks to the titanium parts, and replacing the 3-speed hub with Brompton’s 2-speed derailleur gear. Fast!~The M2L-X is the ideal super-light folding commuter bike. It is comfortable, reliable, goes fast when you want it to, and weighs less than 10kg.

Brompton Type S2L~This model has the new straight handlebars, which give the rider a lower, sportier riding position, and the new 2-speed derailleur gear. It also comes as standard with the new Vitesse fi'zi:k saddle. This is a lightweight and mechanically simple bike ideally suited for the commuting cyclist who wants to ride fast.~A light and fast 2-speed machine, fitted as standard with the Vitesse fi'zi:k saddle. Like all of the straight handlebar machines, this one has a lower, more "forward" riding position. If you are planning to use a front bag with this model, you MUST use the lower "S-Bag".

Brompton Type S6L plus~This machine had the straight handlebars, combined with six gears, and is suitable for faster longer rides, or commutes in hillier areas. It is supplied as standard with a battery light set, reflective sidewall tyres, and with the new ”S” bag, which is one of the best office bike bags we’ve ever seen.~~Brompton Type S6L plus|349|~712~1029~~

Brompton Type S2L-X~This is the lightest, fastest standard-model Brompton - 2-speed derailleur gears, all of the lightweight titanium parts, and the straight handlebars. Delightfully fast and light.

Brompton Type P3L~Similar to the M3L - lightweight, simple and fitted with good quality parts, but with the added benefit of the new dual-position handlebars.~~Brompton Type P3L|353|~712~1031~~

Brompton Type P6R plus~This bike comes supplied with an outstanding set of equipment. The basic bike is somewhat similar to the old T6 - six gears, a rear rack and a dynamo set, but the P6R+ goes furter, and includes the new dual-position handlebars, Schwalbe "Marathon" tyres, and titanium seat pillar and folding pedal axle.~~Brompton Type P6R plus|352|~712~1044~~

Brompton Type P6R-X~This is the top of th range for Brompton. If you're looking for the best folding bike available on the market today, this is a strong contender. It is equipped with just about every option available - kevlar belted tyres with reflective sidewalls, Vitesse fi'zi:k saddle, dual position handlebars, and the excellent Son hub dynamo system.
